Young Turkish actor Mert Ramazan Demir, star of the TV series "yali capkini" sparked widespread controversy on social media after appearing in a military-style outfit as he prepared to begin his national service.

Mert Ramazan Demir bids farewell to yali capkini. The cast and crew bid farewell to the young star with warm applause and well wishes after he completed his final scenes in the series, which concluded its busy drama season. The series concluded last Friday with episode 101. Demir appeared in photos published in Turkish media with a short military haircut, which revealed his features more clearly and made his eyebrows appear thicker. This sparked widespread public interaction, with some fans appreciating his new look and others criticizing it.

The public is divided over Mert's military look.

The photos didn't go unnoticed by "yali capkini" fans or Demir's followers. Some expressed their admiration for the new look, asserting that Mert's handsomeness wasn't affected by any physical change. In fact, the military haircut gave him a sharper, more attractive masculine appearance.

One follower wrote, "Mert is handsome in any way, even if he shaved all his hair off," while another said, "Same eyes... same charisma."

On the other hand, a number of followers felt that this new look didn't suit Mert and expressed their displeasure with his altered features, specifically noting that the shave accentuated his thick eyebrows in an exaggerated manner.

Some wrote sarcastically, "Who stole Mert? Bring back our handsomeness," while others felt that the military look diminished some of his artistic appeal.

A touching farewell from his colleagues

Demir's decision to devote himself to military service came after filming the final episode of the series "yali capkini" which marked his strong debut on the Turkish art scene.

The crew posted clips documenting his farewell on the set, where everyone was eager to greet him and applaud him warmly, amid an atmosphere of respect and mixed emotions.

In a parallel vein, the series "yali capkini" concluded its long journey with the airing of episode 101, titled "Goodbye Seyran and Ferit." The episode was full of surprises and touching human scenes that resonated deeply with viewers. The episode began with a profoundly human scene when Ferit was forced to accompany his grandfather, Halis AÄŸa, to the hospital for an emergency surgery. Meanwhile, Seyran was experiencing moments of tension after the disappearance of the child, Tishko.

A warm moment later brought them together, restoring balance to their relationship. In a unique dramatic context, the family decided to document their story through a school project. The grandfather spoke of his old love, Kazim AÄŸa shared his struggles, and Abidin and Suna presented their touching accounts of loss and love. Ferit, meanwhile, expressed his maturity and transformation thanks to Seyran's love, emphasizing that their relationship was a story of destiny.

A Timeless Visual Finale and the Passage of Time

The creators of the series chose to present an ending that jumps forward twenty years in time, showing TeÅŸko and the palace children, now adults, opening an art gallery in honor of Halis Korhan. In the words of Seyran and Ferit's daughter, "This palace has seen everything, but love remains... Our story will live forever."

Despite the decline in viewership ratings in the final season and the tensions that accompanied the relationship between Mert Ramazan Demir and Afra Saraçoğlu, which were clearly evident in their mutual unfollowing, the final episode succeeded in ending the series on a touching note that preserved the characters' dignity, earning it widespread acclaim from the audience.
